Bisbee, AZ

Image
I once saw a bumper sticker that said "Bisbee, AZ It's Like Mayberry on Acid." I feel like that's a pretty accurate description. I have always loved Bisbee. My parents had never been, so we planned a trip down together last month.  Getting There It's about a 3 hour drive from home for us. It's not the most exciting drive, but it's not too bad. We usually plow through, but if you'd like to explore Tombstone , you could stop there on your way. Where We Stayed There are lots of cute hotels, airbnbs, and the like in the area. If it's a popular weekend, you're best off booking early. This time, we stayed at the famous Copper Queen Hotel . There are rumors that at least 3 ghosts live here , though there may be many more. We didn't have any specific ghost experiences ourselves while here. But given the history of the hotel, I'd recommend a stay here. Activities Music We happened to be down there over the Sid

I've posted on New Orleans before , but promised an update. Here it is. We again went over Halloween, well technically the weekend before, which I think is a great time to visit. The weather is nice and it's a happening place then (probably always is). Getting There This year we flew American Airlines round trip and instead of taking a taxi to our hotel, an Uber was actually cheaper and easier. The airport has convenient ride share pickup spots making it easy to find. We also Ubered back to the airport upon leaving, and that driver made us promise to go to his house for dinner when we return! The locals are just super nice and welcoming and both of our Uber drivers were very nice and offered great tips. Where We Stayed We couldn't resist another stay at Hotel Provincial . It's such a cute place in the perfect spot in the French Quarter. You're close enough to everything, but far enough to be able to sleep at night. Unfortunately, there were n

NYC at Christmas

New York City at Christmas time is magical. When a friend's 50th birthday celebration took us to Cape Cod in December, we couldn't resist tacking on a NYC trip to it. Getting There We added NYC to the end of our Cape Cod trip- which was awesome too by the way: My parents flew in just ahead of us and we met up with them upon our arrival. We flew into LaGuardia from Boston and grabbed an Uber to our hotel (there is SO MUCH honking in NYC!). Flying out, we flew out of JFK. Both flights were with American Airlines. Where We Stayed We stayed at the Radisson Hotel New York Midtown-Fifth Avenue. I think it is now a DoubleTree by Hilton . I thought it was the perfect location. It was very busy at check in. We dropped off our luggage to start walking around- after all, we only had 2 days here! The location was close to all the main spots. We had a great view from our hotel room. That's Rockefeller Plaza right there! One morning we heard Alicia Key
