Sonoita-Elgin, AZ
We spent another great weekend camping at Kartchner Caverns. I really do love that park, and the stars at night are amazing!
For this post, I'll focus on the wineries we visited while down there. We took a day and did a little road trip to Sonoita-Elgin. I researched dog friendly wineries since we had our pups with us- but I think most are!
And there are a LOT of wineries in this area. You could definitely spend a few days exploring them all.Twisted Union Wine Company
We started our adventure with Twisted Union Wine Company.
They had a resident dog that greeted us and was very friendly with my dogs. The kids had fun throwing the ball to the dog as we relaxed out back. They had a large open area where you could sit and look at the vines (which were all dormant during our visit). We were helped out by the friendly person there, who gave us suggestions on where to go next.Callaghan Vineyards
Our next visit was just a couple hundred yards down the road at Callaghan Vineyards.
We had a great view of the nearby mountain sitting outside here and we had some snacks.
Copper Brothel Brewery
We were a bit hungry for something substantial, so our next stop was this brewery which also has a full restaurant.
Now, this place is always busy! We tried to stop last time we were down here, but the wait was so long we kept going. This time, the wait was about 40 minutes, which was fine. We grabbed a couple beers and hung out with the dogs out back and the kids played. We put the dogs in the car while we ate.Rune Wines
Our last stop was Rune Wines. I was blown away by the magnitude of the space here!
They were serving wine outside where our dogs were welcomed. They had some fires going and lots of space to spread out. This was also the busiest vineyard we stopped at, but the service was great and there was plenty of room. There were so many others I had on my list and so many more than that. I think it might be time for a weekend focused on just the wineries down there! It's such a beautiful area. And as for the wine, I by no means have much wine knowledge, but I thought it was all great!
