Oktoberfest!

Now to the star of the show. As I mentioned, Oktoberfest was the plan that started it all for our Europe trip. We were meeting up with one of my besties to celebrate her 40th. Did you know entering Oktoberfest is free? At it's core, it's a family friendly fair full of rides, vendors, and typical fair atmosphere...well, times 1000. The size and rides and even vendors were extravagant.  Each year, they tear down and then rebuild the beer tents. This is the part of Oktoberfest we were there for. If you go, make sure to reserve a table early. They sell out quickly and while you can enjoy the beer gardens pretty easily, inside the tents is where it's at. Munich

The whole reason we went to Europe to begin with was to end up at Oktoberfest.  One of my best friends was celebrating her 40th birthday there, so it was a no brainer to join. Before we get to the main star, however, let's talk about Munich. Getting There From Venice , we took an overnight train to Munich. You also have the choice of taking a short flight. If I did it again, I'd definitely go with the flight. We wanted the experience of the overnight train, so we opted for that this go round. This train was not Italo as we had taken before. We took the Nightjet by OBB. We had our own little room with bunk beds. It was quaint, but comfortable. They provide a small bag of goodies for the trip and a ticket to fill out with what type of breakfast you want.  But we could not sleep. I don't think I got a wink of sleep.
